Sulfur Worm

Sulfur Worms are colossal burrowing invertebrates that lurk beneath the crust of geothermal basins, using sulfur pools as both camouflage and incubator. Most of their bulk stays submerged, but when prey wanders too close, they surge upward in a violent eruption of steam and acid vapors. Their primary attack is projecting sticky, sulfur-rich globs that are best avoided.

Field guide

Originally adapted to subsistence in sulfuric aquifers, these worms underwent drastic changes in geothermal regions where exotics accumulate underground. The combination of extreme heat, toxic chemistry, and radiation accelerated their growth patterns and converted their natural defensive secretions into hyper-adhesive projectiles. The mutation also heightened their territorial instincts - anything approaching their pools is treated as a threat.

Where it spawns

This creature is not listed in any spawn zone in the shipped tables — it is placed by a mission, a boss encounter or a tame, rather than by the world spawner. Its biome and maps above come from the bestiary itself.
