Creature · ICARUS 3.0.26 · Week 248
Spectres tend to wander radioactive zones, their body warped and decayed by prolonged exposure to exotic contamination. Once human, these figures now move with jerky, unnatural precision, glowing faintly in the dark with residual energy. Their claws and distorted limbs make close encounters lethal, and radiation levels spike wherever they roam.
Believed to be prospectors who lingered too long near unstable exotic deposits, Spectres are grim evidence of Icarus' mutagenic potential. The exotic matter fused with organic tissue, keeping the host animated long past viability. Whether driven by instinct, agony, or the pull of the exotics themselves remains unknown.
"If that's what's left of us after the job... maybe the bonus ain't worth it."
