Creature · ICARUS 3.0.26 · Week 248
Frostfoots are bulky, frost-coated omnivores roughly the size of an Earth Grizzly, but far more irritable. Their dense white fur insulates a muscular frame built for short, explosive bursts of speed, and the curved horns serve as both intimidation display and battering implement. Their name comes from their wide, heat-retentive paws, which allow them to traverse ice sheets without slipping - unfortunately, they also allow Frostfoots to stomp a prospector into the snow with unnerving stability.
Originally introduced by Norex as a hardy cold-biome work animal prototype, Frostfoots adapted too well. Prolonged exposure to exotic-laced permafrost altered their metabolism, increasing aggression and muscle density beyond what handlers could safely manage. After several "containment failures" (read: they tore down the fences and ate the researchers), the program was quietly abandoned. The animals thrived without supervision, much to everyone else's dismay.
"Yeah I had a friend back on Earth who was super into Bigfoot, imagine if he'd seen THESE!"
